About Lisa
I’ve been photographing families professionally for over 10 years. My clients love my fun, natural style and I’ve been chosen as the WA professional family photographer of the year for the past Four years! I really love what I do and I’m passionate about creating gorgeous family memories.
I’ve lost count of the times I’ve heard about peoples “good camera” stuck on auto, or worse, in the cupboard because it was Just. Too. Hard.
That’s why I’ve started my Photo Mojo and my beginners’ course, Photography Launch Pad. Designed to teach you to both use your camera AND photograph your family. To tame those monkeys and capture natural smiles.
“Before you know it, you’ll be taking beautiful family photos that take your breath away, the reason you bought that good camera for in the first place!”

What People are Saying…
Alison SWA
“It really does help you understand how the camera works, and things to look for to make an average photo a great photo. I really enjoyed learning about the functions of the camera, tricks for lighting, and things to include/avoid to really enhance the photo (composition). The tips for trying to wrangle the kids were great. Now I just need to practice, practice, practice. It’s also so great to have Lisa answer your specific questions (no matter how silly ) and get individual feedback on your pics. It makes the learning experience very tailored to your specific needs. Thanks Lisa for a really enjoyable few weeks. I’m looking forward to staying in the facebook group and continuing the journey!”

I did Lisa’s course in May and loved it. I have been on manual mode ever since and practicing as much as I can. I have realised the more I learn the more I want to learn and am considering doing a more comprehensive course next year to take my photography journey further. I was very lucky for my last birthday (it was a big one!) to get a new camera from my husband. Still so much to figure out. What I have loved is that I have started going through the course again. It makes so much more sense second time around and is a really good reminder for things I had forgotten about. Great to have access to review the modules down the track.
Karina DPerth, WA
After completing the course and only shooting in manual mode now it’s hard to remember why I felt so overwhelmed by the camera and its settings (and equally underwhelmed by my photos) it all seems so easy now I understand exposure and getting great shots seems very achievable. Credit for this goes 100% to Lisa for breaking down the basics and explaining it at the right level with lots of examples. The best compliment I got off my husband was “Wow! It’s good to know it wasn’t the camera” when looking over my recent photos compared to the old ones

FAQ
I’m really not technical – AT ALL!
Perfect! We are going to break through the techno haze and teach you what you really need to know. Step by step, with plenty of practical advice, challenges and examples. Don’t forget, you can come back as often as you need and ask questions in the forum until you really understand. You can do this!
What happens if one of my kids get sick or I get sick and I need to take a break during the course?
We get it, life with kids is far from predictable. That’s why there is nothing to worry about here. You have lifetime access to the course, so it can be completely self paced. If life gets in the way and you have to take a break, you can easily pick it up anytime. And you’ll still have access to the Facebook group for any questions that crop up.
What if I don’t have a “fancy” camera yet?
While you’ll get more from this course if you have a DSLR, as long as you have a camera with manual controls, where you can adjust the shutter speed, aperture you’ll be fine. You’ll also learn a lot about lighting, composition and how to handle your subjects/family/monkeys – nothing to do with the Camera.
If you’re in the market for a camera, then perfect – the first module goes over gear and what you actually need. PLUS, because you’ll have lifetime access, you can always revisit parts of the course if you upgrade your camera in the future.
How long will it take to finish the course?
The course was designed to be easily taken over five weeks. However as you have access to the whole course from day one, you can set your own pace.
How can I get a refund?
Here’s the deal on refunds. I pride myself on providing a high-quality course that works . . . if you put the work in. Meaning, if you do what I teach you, good things will happen to your photography. If you don’t, it won’t.If, after the first two weeks, you’ve had a go at the challenges of the first two modules and find this course isn’t for you – we will refund you the total cost of the course. It’s risk-free.
Is it really possible to take a nice picture of my kids, with natural smiles? My kids are crazy (gorgeous, but crazy) and they HATE the camera!!
It is! What you need is a big back of tricks, not every kid is going to respond to the same trick, and not every trick will work every time. I’ll share my bag of tricks that’s helped me win the WA professional family photographer of the year for three years in a row and bought a tear to the eye of many of my clients when viewing their images.
How is the course delivered?
The course is delivered via a series of videos. You’ll have instant access to all seven modules of the course. The course is designed so that it can easily be completed in five weeks and each week we’ll send you an email guiding you through. You are free to work along, jump ahead or put the brakes on and go slow. The videos are broken down into bite sized chunks so you can choose to either watch them when you have 15 – 20 minutes spare, or watch them all at once. Every week there will be a practical challenge for you to put what you’ve learned into practice and Lisa will be available in the private Facebook group to answer any questions. You won’t be left hanging!
